Cboe reports 25.7% MoM growth in March volumes

The Cboe Global Markets reported March 2020 volumes, marking significant growth compared to March the previous year: Options ADV up 69%, Futures up 35%, U.S. Equities up 129% YoY.

On MoM basis, the total volume has grown by 25.7%, Options ADV by 8.5%, Futures fell by 9.3% , U.S. Equities jumped by 80.3%.

Cboe’s four options exchanges together set a new monthly ADV record with more than 12 million contracts traded in March. A new monthly volume record was set by S&P 500 Index (SPX) options with 43.4 million contracts traded last month.

Cboe Volatility Index (VIX) rose up by 112% and options and futures ADV grew by 36% YoY.

Cboe FX reached monthly ADNV record of nearly $55 billion in notional value.
