Pepperstone launches MetaTrader 4 for Apple Mac OSX

The importance of the ability to use expert advisers (EAs) in conjunction with the MetaTrader 4 platform remains in the Asia Pacific region, an area in which Australian retail FX company Pepperstone is highly active.

This week, as an expansion of its service, Pepperstone has launched the Apple Mac OSX compatible version of the ubiquitous MetaTrader 4 platform,

which includes identical functionality to the PC version, with live quotes, real-time charts, in-depth news and analytics as well as a host of order management tools, indicators and of course the vital expert advisors.

While MetaTrader 4 was not originally designed for Mac, Pepperstone’s MT4 is now available as a native OSX application, meaning there is no need to use expensive Windows emulators or other software to run the platform. Pepperstone’s Mac OSX platform has the full MetaTrader 4 functionality, thus traders can operate the same Expert Advisors and Indicators on Apple Mac machines as would be compatible with Microsoft Windows.

Pepperstone asserts that its MetaTrader 4 platform offers a user-friendly interface in a highly customizable trading environment to help its customers improve their trading performance.

Pepperstone recently exited the Japanese market on instruction from the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), the regulatory body whose license Pepperstone holds. Whilst companies in the Japanese market are moving away from MetaTrader 4 and concentrating on proprietary platforms, other regions in the all important Asia Pacific region are sticking firmly with MetaTrader 4.

Part of the reason for this differential is that in Japan, many traders operate their platforms manually, without the use of EAs or copy trading systems, whereas the opposite is true of Malaysia, China and Indonesia, thus perhaps indicating the reasons as to why Pepperstone is keen to offer as much flexibility and ease of access to its MetaTrader 4 platform.
