LeapRate Exclusive… New Pepperstone CEO Tamas Szabo continues to make his mark on the company, which – not surprisingly – is now including bringing in some of his former IG Australia colleagues, who helped Mr. Szabo grow London based IG Group Holdings plc (LON:IGG) into the leading online broker down under.
LeapRate has learned that Mr. Szabo has now brought in his former Head of Brand Marketing APAC at IG, Meagan Wilson, as the new Group Head of Marketing at Pepperstone. Ms. Wilson was at IG Australia with Mr. Szabo from 2006-2015. For the past three years since leaving IG Ms. Wilson worked in various senior marketing roles at Australian Unity Wealth, National Australia Bank, and CrownBet.
Pepperstone’s Head of Marketing for the past three years, Sheldon Chapman, has apparently been reassigned within the company.
Pepperstone brought in Mr. Szabo last year to help take the company to the ‘next level’ when co-founders Owen Kerr and Joe Davenport stepped back from active management of the company, after control of Pepperstone passed to private equity firm CHAMP Private Equity, which made a multi million dollar investment in the company. Beyond strengthening its position as the leading Australia based online broker, Pepperstone has been actively growing abroad, with the company’s FCA regulated UK subsidiary Pepperstone Limited starting to onboard clients late last year. Mr. Szabo recently joined the board of Pepperstone UK, indicating the importance the company places on growing its UK and European presence.
LeapRate spoke with Pepperstone CEO Tamas Szabo about the changes:
Yes we have hired Meagan Wilson. We are excited to have her join our team. She comes with extensive experience, both from within the FX industry and broader financial services.
Meagan Wilson has a marketing career spanning almost 20 years and has held roles at PwC, Bell Potter Securities, CrownBet and various areas of the National Australia Bank including Custodian Services, NAB Private and JBWere. Most recently she was Head of Direct Marketing Strategy and Growth at Australian Unity Wealth.
Meagan also brings extensive industry experience having spent almost 10 years at IG, working across the APAC region in senior marketing roles.
Sheldon Chapman maintains a key role in the marketing team and he has a wealth of experience within Pepperstone and externally. He is looking forward to working with Meagan to build upon the impressive growth achieved to date.
