Euronext names Georges Lauchard Chief Operating Officer

The pan-European exchange, Euronext, announced yesterday the appointment of Georges Lauchard as Chief Operating Office. Lauchard will also become a member of the Managing Board of Euronext N.V., after all relevant corporate and regulatory approvals.

Georges Lauchard has an international career in capital markets. His appointment will put him in a position to oversee Euronext operational strategy, policies, and execution. Lauchard will support Euronext in the company’s aspiration to become the leading market infrastructure in Europe. Lauchard’s appointment will start today from the Paris office.

Before his appointment at Euronext, Lauchard was COO/CFO of JP Morgan’s Corporate and Investment Bank Technology team since February 2018. He has worked at JP Morgan in London & Hong Kong for over 20 years and has held many leadership roles including Head of Global Front Office Markets supervision, COO of Global Currencies and Emerging Markets Trading as well as COO of the Asia Markets and Investor Services Sales, Merger integration project manager, Operations and Client Service manager. Previously, he worked for Paribas in New York. Lauchard holds a Master of Science degree in Management from NEOMA Business School in France and a degree in Economics from Nice University.

Euronext announced in February its double-digit growth in revenue for 2019, reaching €679.1 million, up by10.4%. The acquisition of Oslo Børs VPS last year has had significant contributions to Euronext’s revenue.

In the end of January the company appointed Øivind Amundsen as CEO of Oslo Børs VPS Holding and Oslo Børs, following the acquisition.  Øivind Amundsen  was with Oslo Børs since 2010.
