Deutsche Börse cash market turnover 20% higher YoY in Q3

The trading volumes on the cash markets of Deutsche Börse amounted to €1.29 trillion at the end of the third quarter, an increase of 20% compared to the same period last year.

In 2017, turnover on the trading venues Xetra, Börse Frankfurt and Tradegate Exchange stood at €1.08 trillion at the end of September.

On a monthly basis, the total trading volumes amounted to €130.6 billion in September 2018 (previous year: €117.7 billion). Of this, €120.5 billion were attributable to Xetra (previous year: €107.3 billion). The average daily turnover on Xetra therefore was €6.0 billion. Order book turnover on Börse Frankfurt totalled €2.7 billion (previous year: €3.4 billion) and on Tradegate Exchange €7.4 billion (previous year: €7.0 billion).

Split by asset classes, cash market turnover in equities reached about €117.8 billion. Turnover in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs amounted to €11.4 billion. Turnover in bonds was €0.3 billion, in certificates €1.0 billion and in funds €0.1 billion.

The DAX security with the highest turnover on Xetra in September was Bayer AG at €6.6 billion. The iShares Core DAX UCITS ETF led the ETF segment on Xetra with €1.9 billion.
