Deutsche Börse releases September’s turnover, Xetra’s Average Daily Volume up 10% YoY

Order book turnover on Deutsche Börse cash markets totalled €117.7 billion in September (September 2016: €109.1 billion, August 2017: €116.2 billion).

Of the €117.7 billion, €107.3 billion were attributable to Xetra (September 2016: €100.8 billion) and €3.4 billion to Börse Frankfurt (September 2016: €3.3 billion). Order book turnover on Tradegate Exchange totalled €7.0 billion (September 2016: €5.0 billion).

The average daily turnover on Xetra stood at €5.1 billion (September 2016: 4.6 million). Viewed by transactions, a total of 17.3 million trades were executed on Xetra in September (September 2016: 20.0 million).

Broken down by asset classes, cash market turnover in equities reached about €105.0 billion. Turnover in ETFs/ETCs/ETNs amounted to €11.2 billion. Turnover in bonds was €0.39 billion, in structured products €1.0 billion and in funds €0.13 billion.

The DAX security with the highest turnover on Xetra in September was Siemens AG at €5.2 billion. Covestro AG led the MDAX equities with €1.1 billion, while Klöckner & Co SE topped the SDAX equity index with €161 million, and Wirecard AG headed TecDAX with €549 million. The ETF with the highest turnover on Xetra was iShares Core DAX UCITS ETF with €2.0 billion.

On the electronic trading platform Eurex Bonds, a volume of €4.0 billion was traded, mainly in government bonds (September 2016: €6.8 billion).
