ICE appoints David Farrell as COO of ICE Futures US, Hester Serafini joins as ICE Clear US COO

Operator of international exchanges and clearing houses Intercontinental Exchange Inc (NYSE:ICE), which earlier today confirmed it was considering an approach for London Stock Exchange Group Plc (LON:LSE), has just unveiled a couple of management appointments.

ICE announced that David Farrell, Senior Director, Global Soft Commodity Operations, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of ICE Futures U.S. Mr Farrell joined ICE in 2012 and has held leadership roles in market supervision, product management, commodity operations. Most recently, he has served as head of global soft commodity operations across ICE Futures U.S. and ICE Futures Europe. Prior to joining ICE, Mr Farrell was responsible for the oversight of the development of commodities trading and risk management products at Kiodex, a division of software firm SunGard (recently acquired by FIS).

Hester Serafini joins ICE as COO of ICE Clear U.S., with her appointment effective today. In her new role, she reports to Tom Hammond, President of ICE Clear U.S., and will have the management of the clearing house operations and interpreting and implementing regulatory changes as her main responsibility. Ms Serafini joins the company from J.P. Morgan, where she was at the helm of the OTC clearing and intermediation business for credit, FX and rates derivatives in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to that, she was global head of credit prime brokerage and clearing for Deutsche Bank.
