Exclusive: Admiral Markets UK Managing Director Simon Roberts resigns

LeapRate Exclusive… LeapRate has learned that Simon Roberts has resigned as Managing Director of FCA regulated Retail FX brokers Admiral Markets UK Ltd.

Admiral Markets UK is the UK arm of Estonia based FX and CFDs broker Admiral Markets Group A/S.

Simon Roberts joined Admiral Markets UK in early 2017, from CySEC-licensed broker Windsor Brokers where he was UK branch manager. Prior to Windsor Brokers he had also worked at Fortrade.

Under his (brief) leadership, Admiral Markets UK seems to have done well with 2017 Revenues up 58% to £5.5 million. That made Admiral Markets UK one of the fastest growing parts of the overall company, which saw Admiral Markets Group global revenues up 17% in 2017 to €27M, with net profit of €6.5M.

His role has been taken over by Stephen Ayme, subject to oversight by the Board of Directors and with the full support of the Admiral Markets administrative functions.

Admiral Markets is controlled by Estonian businessman Alexander Tsikhilov. The company is run globally by co-CEOs Sergei Bogatenkov and Jens Chrzanowski.

Simon Roberts has resigned from his position as an Executive Director of Admiral Markets UK Ltd, as from 26 July 2018. Simon was involved in the administration of Admiral Markets UK Ltd and there has been a strong focus on regulatory developments, with GDPR, MiFID 2 and the ESMA product intervention measures. Over this past half year, Admiral Markets UK Ltd has achieved a large number of goals. The projects in which he was involved have been finalised and he will pursue his career away from Admiral Markets UK Ltd. His departure will not impact on the development of the business. We are grateful for the good work that he has contributed and wish him well in his career.
