ActivTrades becomes first finance broker to sign HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter

FCA regulated retail forex and CFDs broker ActivTrades has announced that it is the first finance broker to sign the HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter, which supports gender diversity in the financial services industry.

Created in March 2016, the Charter has gathered the support of over 120 leading financial organisations including Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse and Barclays Bank.

The Charter encourages businesses within the sector to have a greater gender balance of staff in senior executive positions. ActivTrades’ Marketing Associate, Alicia Ortega stated:

It is fantastic that there is an increasing emphasis on having a fair and diverse workforce in the financial industry, something which ActivTrades has been in support of since we established in 2001.

In a press release from the HM Treasury it said “The Charter’s innovative approach has been an unprecedented success with some of the UK’s biggest and most well established firms signing up… ActivTrades is the first finance broker to lead the charge.”

On 29th June 2017, HM Treasury will hold the inaugural Women in Finance Awards at The Savoy in London. These awards will celebrate the individuals and organisations who are leading change by driving the gender diversity agenda in financial services.
