CBOE Holdings’ trading volumes drop 16% M/M in November 2015

CBOE Holdings, Inc (NASDAQ:CBOE), the holding company for Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), C2 Options Exchange (C2), CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE), and other subsidiaries, has just published its volume metrics for November 2015, with the results highlighting a downward trend already exhibited in September and October 2015.

Total trading volume in November for options contracts on CBOE, C2 and CFE was 82.8 million contracts, down 16% from October 2015 levels and down 3% from November 2014.

Average daily volume (ADV) at the three venues was 4.1 million contracts in November 2015, down 8% from October 2015 and November 2014.

CBOE Volume: November 2015

CBOE’s ADV for the month was 3.7 million contracts, down 8% from October 2015 levels and November 2014 levels. Total volume was 74.2 million contracts, down 16% from October 2015 and down 4% from November 2014.

C2 Volume: November 2015

C2’s ADV for the month was 253,222 contracts, down 8% month-on-month and 18% year-on-year. Total volume was 5.1 million contracts, down 16% from October 2015 and 14% from November 2014.

CFE Volume: November 2015

Total ADV at CFE was 174,061 contracts in November, down 4% from October 2015 and up 24% from November 2014. Total volume at CFE for the month was 3.5 million contracts, down 13% from October 2015 and up 30% from November 2014.
