Full European Vanguard product range tradable on Xetra for the first time

Exchange traded funds (ETFs) issued by Vanguard have been tradable for the first time on Xetra and Börse Frankfurt since Thursday. The 23 new ETFs provide investors with access to an extensive product range of equity, fixed income and strategy ETFs.

We are delighted to be able to welcome Vanguard, one of the largest issuers of ETFs worldwide, on Xetra. Today’s listing of 23 Vanguard ETFs represents a significant expansion of our product range in the ETF segment and underscores the attractiveness of Deutsche Börse as a leading listing and trading platform in the European ETF market,” said Michael Krogmann, Managing Director of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The listing of our ETF range on the Deutsche Börse is an important milestone for Vanguard, and the first step in a longstanding commitment to simplifying and lowering the cost of investing in Germany. ETFs have proven to be a great innovation in this regard, providing investors with broad diversification, transparency and liquidity at a low fee,” said Sebastian Külps, Head of Germany at Vanguard. “We are proud to be working together with Deutsche Börse, and the Frankfurt exchange, and looking forward to sharing the benefit of their expertise and experience in the future.

Vanguard’s ETF offering consists of twelve equity index ETFs, six fixed income ETFs, four active ETFs and one smart beta ETF. The selection of equity index ETFs also includes the first European listing of the Vanguard EURO STOXX 50 UCITS ETF. All the ETFs physically replicate their reference index.

Vanguard’s equity index ETFs enable investors to participate in the performance of stock corporations from various countries and regions, as well as from emerging and developed markets.

The Vanguard fixed income ETFs provide investors with a cost-effective investment in various government and corporate bond indices.

Vanguard’s range of strategy ETFs includes four active ETFs, which provide investors with access to investment strategies based on the factors value, momentum, liquidity and minimum volatility, as well as one smart beta ETF with a focus on dividend yield.

The product offering in Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment currently comprises a total of 1,203 exchange traded funds. This selection, together with an average monthly trading volume of around €11 billion, makes Xetra Europe’s leading trading venue for ETFs.
