Ripple CEO on cryptocurrencies: Only 1% will survive

Brad Garlinghouse is definitely one of the most well-known figures in the cryptocurrency world. He is the CEO of Ripple. He recently gave his opinion on what the cryptocurrency future can look like, and it’s not a positive outlook in terms of numbers of surviving alt coins and volume.

Garlinghouse predicts that around 99% of all digital coins will go to zero, and there are too many cryptocurrency projects out there. Ripple CEO gave an interview to Bloomberg on November 5, in which he shared his view that only 1% of all existing coins will remain in the future.

According to Garlinghouse, the surviving cryptocurrency projects will experience significant growth as they will be the ones solving real problems for real customers. In a sense, they will be the game-changers of the entire industry.

He also went to explain that the growth of the cryptocurrencies is due to the hype in the industry and this growth is not actually driven by solving real problems in the world. Currently, there are more than 3,000 digital assets that are trading around the globe on a daily basis. But very few of them meet the needs and expectations of customers.

Garlinghouse went on to comment:

Anytime there is a new market, there are a lot of people that run into that market and try to show that they can solve a problem, they can deliver a customer need.
