Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) has earlier today posted its volumes metrics for April 2016, with yuan futures trading volumes staging a steep decline in monthly terms.
Overall trading volumes at the Exchange amounted to 19,239,430 contracts in April 2016, down 14% from the reading of 22,400,159 contracts for March 2016. The annual comparison was also negative, as as the overall trading volumes at TAIFEX were down 19.1% from the April 2015 reading of 23,787,173 contracts.
Let’s examine the RMB futures trading results.
- In March 2016, the monthly trading volumes of USD/CNH FX Futures (RHF) amounted to 4,401 contracts, down 36.8% from the reading of 6,963 contracts registered in March 2016.
- The monthly trading volumes of USD/CNT FX Futures (RTF) amounted to 27,486 contracts, down 29.5% from 38,958 contracts in March 2016.
