New Zealand Forex and derivatives brokerage house OMF appoints new CEO

Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand based OM Financial Limited (OMF) today announced the immediate appointment of Matt Blackwell to the role of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.

OMF, regulated by the Financial Markets Authority is a NZ owned and operated, full service brokerage firm with a strong and established reputation in the financial markets. OMF facilitates trades on a full range of financial products available in the FX, carbon, options, equities, CFDs and futures markets.

Mr. Blackwell has been a key member of the OMF executive and leadership team since October 2014 where he has played a critical role in executing OMF’s online strategy through the development and distribution of OMF’s online trading platforms.

Matt has an extensive background in the financial markets spanning 20 years. He joined OMF after returning to New Zealand from Asia where he held a number of executive positions, most recently the role of Managing Director at Deutsche Bank in Singapore.

Matt started his career in Corporate NZ Treasury before moving into Banking and a trading career covering products such as interest rate options, cross currency swaps, corporate bonds and credit derivatives. Matt has held several positions in New Zealand, Australia and Hong Kong before moving to Singapore 2005 where he was appointed Head of Rates Trading and Structuring for an Asian bank. In 2006, Matt moved to Deutsche Bank Asia, where he held the position of Managing Director and Co-Head of Fixed Income, Currencies, Credit & Commodity Sales, with specific responsibility for the delivery of the Rates and Credit sales franchise in the Asia region as well as the overall performance of the FICC Sales franchise.
