IG Group Holdings plc (LON:IGG), a leading provider of online trading services, has celebrated the official opening of their new premises in Dublin following significant growth in its Irish business. The event was attended by Charles Flanagan TD, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Peter Hetherington, the Chief Executive Officer of IG Group.
IG’s Irish business, which commenced operations in 2013, is moving to World Rugby House on Dublin’s Pembroke Street Lower in the heart of the city. The state-of-the-art offices, which include modern trading rooms, conference suites and other features for IG’s growing client base, will accommodate the firm’s Irish staff.
Minister Flanagan commented,
“As you know, growing our financial services sector in Ireland is a priority in the Government’s annual Action Plan for Jobs and, indeed, my colleague Minister Simon Harris has made great progress in this area. Just last year we launched the Government’s Strategy for Ireland’s International Financial Services Sector – IFS2020. The IG Group, one of the UK’s top 200 firms, listed on both the London Stock Exchange and the FTSE 250, is a globally successful company with offices in 17 countries – I am delighted that Ireland is among that elite group”.
Peter Hetherington commented,
“The demand for online trading in Ireland continues to grow year on year. We are the market leader in Ireland but will not rest on our laurels as the opening of this new office shows. We strive to offer the best in class client experience. This ranges from our award winning trading platform to the personal service we provide through activities such as our popular client seminars and events all over Ireland.”
Mr Hetherington commented about several pending additions to IG’s offering:
“Looking forward Irish investors will be able to take control of their retirement planning with IG as we are adding Small Self-Administered Scheme (SSAS) to our existing stockbroking platform in 2016. This year will also see the launch of an investment offering in partnership with BlackRock comprising of a selection of ETF-based investment portfolios. So you will now be able to fully control your trading and investing in one place with IG.”
