Hotspot FX volumes fall in April

Forex ECN Hotspot FX, a unit of Knight Capital Group (NYSE:KCG), has announced that April FX volume levels volumes were well down from March, similar to the trend we have seen already at other leading Forex ECNs including Thomson Reuters, ICAP-EBS and FXall.

Average daily volume in Hotspot FX’s system were $49.7 billion in April, down 15% from March.

As volatility levels have picked up somewhat in May, we are hearing initial indications from within the industry that FX volumes in May, nearly half over, will recover nicely from the lulls of the past few months. Stay tuned….
