Goldman Sachs takes stake in low-latency trading provider Perseus for $20.5M

Perseus, a leading managed services provider of high-speed connectivity, today announced a $20.5 million investment by Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS) for a minority stake in its rapidly growing global technology business. The capital will allow Perseus to accelerate expansion of its global managed services network.

Perseus has been at the forefront of low-latency trading and market connectivity since its formation in 2009. In the past year, Perseus released LiquidPath® into the US financial market, and EdgePath™, a fully-managed service that deploys infrastructure for the technology, media, telecoms and iGaming industries.

“We see a great opportunity in the financial sector in general, and Perseus in particular,” said Terry Doherty at Goldman Sachs. “Not only is their business performance exceptional, but they have the potential to dramatically shift the way that the global markets engage by introducing faster and more secure managed services to the industry.”
