Exclusive: Founder of Interbank FX Todd Crosland set to launch social venture capital platform

Interest in FX firms from venture capital providers has begun to grow, as demonstated by last week’s pledge by Quadro Capital Partners and Forex Club’s venture capital fund FXC-QCP VC to invest $50 million in FX related business.

This week, a new and innovative development in this direction will come into effect, with the launch on Tuesday August 19 of a new U.S. registered Broker–dealer and proprietary online equity-based social investing platform.

The entirely new company will commence business under the name of Seed Equity Ventures, with its initial office based in North America, with a further office in Tel Aviv, Israel, scheduled for opening within the next two months, placing the firm in the top two nations for successful venture capital funding worldwide. The company’s North American offices will be situated in San Francisco, California, and Salt Lake City, Utah. Indeed, Tel Aviv and San Francisco are widely known to be the technological advancement centers which have founded more NASDAQ-listed innovative startup technology firms than anywhere else worldwide, a success from which many venture capital firms have gained tremendously.

Nowadays, Silicon Valley and Tel Aviv are synonymous with being home to the lion’s share of all venture-capital funded companies internationally.

Masterminding this highly interesting marriage of social investing with venture capital is Todd Crosland, who is the founder and CEO of Seed Equity Ventures. Mr. Crosland is an industry veteran of vast experience, having been one of the founders of Interbank FX in 2001, holding the position of Chairman and CEO until February 2012. In addition to his instrumental role at Interbank FX, Mr. Crosland became Chairman and President of 75-year established Rex Industries, a position which he took up in 1996 and still holds today. Rex Industries provides industrial steel manufacturing to the inter-mountain western region of the United States.

Speaking to LeapRate today with regard to the forthcoming unveiling of the new firm, Mr. Crosland explained “We will be opening our Tel Aviv office in the next two month. this is in addition to our offices in San Francisco and Salt Lake City.”

“Seed Equity was founded to provide growth equity to entrepreneurs whether they are located in San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Bangalore, London, or Shanghai. The company’s mission is to help find the best and brightest entrepreneurs and connect them with global institutional and individual investors,” adds founder Todd Crosland”

Mr. Crosland further pointed out that Seed Equity’s current network already spans countries like the United States, Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, Egypt, Hungary, Israel, Japan, Philippines, Poland, Russian Federation, Romania, Singapore, South Korea and Turkey, Cyprus, Honduras, Nicaragua, United Kingdom and is expected to grow.

Seed Equity Ventures, LLC is a registered Broker Dealer with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and a member of FINRA and SIPC. The firm is authorized to engage in private placement of securities and M&A advisory services. Mr. Crosland’s ethos behind the establishment of the firm was to provide growth equity to entrepreneurs and their startups in exciting industries throughout the world. Seed Equity’s mission is to help find the best and brightest entrepreneurs and connect them with global institutional and individual investors.
