Francesco Guerrera joins Dow Jones Media Group as Head of Europe

Dow Jones Media Group (DJMG) announced that Francesco Guerrera is joining their team in London as Head of Europe, starting on April 18th.

Guerrera has worked in the UK, Europe, Asia and the U.S. teams of editors and reporters. He has an unrivaled track record of market-moving scoops and incisive reporting on the biggest financial stories. These include: breaking news on AIG’s attempt to stave off bankruptcy at the height of the financial crisis; landing the scoop on the attempted takeover by China’s CNOOC of U.S. rival Unocal; and overseeing The Wall Street Journal’s investigation of the extraordinary management meltdown inside bond giant Pimco, which won the Loeb Award in 2015. While at WSJ, Francesco Guerrera also oversaw the publication’s scoop on the “London Whale”, a JP Morgan trader who ratcheted up billions of dollars in trading losses.

Most recently, Francesco Guerrera was Associate Editor and Chief Financial Correspondent for POLITICO Europe, where he launched and led the publication’s coverage of financial services. Previously, he was Global Finance Editor at The Wall Street Journal, where he managed a team of some 200 reporters and editors. Before then, he was in charge of the Financial Times’ coverage of the 2008 financial crisis as U.S. Financial and Business Editor.
