BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) announced the appointment of Sandro Pierri as Global Head of Client Group, its worldwide Sales and Marketing organisation. Sandro Pierri will report to Frédéric Janbon, BNPP AM’s Chief Executive Officer, and will be a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He will join BNPP AM in September 2017 and be based in London.

Sandro Pierri has spent his entire career in the asset management industry. He began his career as a portfolio manager in 1989, first at San Paolo Fondi, moving to BNL Gestioni in 1992 and then joining ING Investment Management in Italy in 1994. At ING he held various positions focused on distribution, including Chief Executive of Retail for Italy between 2002 and 2003. Further to the acquisition of ING Group’s Italian business by Unicredit/Pioneer, Sandro joined Pioneer Investments in 2004.
He subsequently spent over 10 years with Pioneer Investments in a number of distribution and leadership roles, before assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer and Head of UniCredit’s Asset Management Division between 2012 and 2015. Since leaving Pioneer, Sandro has undertaken various non-executive directorships and advisory assignments. Sandro read Economics at Università degli Studi di Torino, in Italy.
