BNP Paribas AM appoints Chris Hofmann to ETF and indexed fund team in Germany

BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) just announced that has further strengthened it ETF and indexed fund team with the appointment of Chris Hofmann as Senior Sales Manager for German-speaking clients. She joined at the beginning of October.

Based in Munich and reporting to Claus Hecher, Head of Development in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland, Hofmann is responsible for expanding the distribution of index-linked products, in particular the BNP Paribas Easy range of exchange-traded funds, to institutional investors and local distribution networks.

Chris Hofmann’s appointment continues the growth of BNPP AM’s employees focused on indexed fund and ETF solutions in the European market. Germany is the second largest European market for ETF investing, with ETFs accounting for 27.2% of total assets under management, after the UK and ahead of France. More than 550 ETFs are listed in Germany, accounting for EUR 157 billion of assets under management.

Chris Hofmann, 35, has more than 10 years’ experience of ETFs. She began her professional career in 2006 as an ETF specialist within Lyxor’s German Sales and Marketing team, before joining UniCredit’s brokerage business in 2009 as Head of ETF Sales for Germany, Austria, Luxembourg and Switzerland. In 2010, she was promoted to Head of ETF Sales for Europe and was Head of ETF Allocation Advisory within UniCredit Wealth Management from 2015 to 2017. Chris is a graduate of the ACCADIS School of International Business (SIB) in Bad Homburg and the American Business School in Paris.
