$125 million worth of Stellar lumens will be given away as the largest give-away ever done so far. Stellar is partnering with Blockchain, the world’s top digital wallet for Bitcoin, to surprise each Blockchain wallet holders with $25 worth of Stellar Lumens.
Blockchain actually does not support a lot of companies, yet Stellar is one of them. The generous give-away is intended to popularize Stellar and increase the attention from wallet holders to the technology and the company itself.
The Innovation Enterprise Channel reported:
“This airdrop will put the Stellar name and technology in front of Blockchain’s 30 million account holders, and will bring many new users into our ecosystem,” the Stellar team explained in a blog post. “Stellar will be only the fourth currency supported by Blockchain; we’re joining Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Bitcoin Cash as top-line options in one of the most popular digital wallets in the world.”
The strategy that Blockchain uses is a very targeted and smart one, as it draws the attention of a tight community of wallet holders who are interested in knowing more about the blockchain technology. The fact that Blockchain does not support many bitcoin companies only speaks for the importance of the give-away.
Blockchain currently has over 30 million wallets under its “belt”, with wallet holders from over 140 countries. In addition, it has processed over 100 million transactions and attracted over 25,000 API developers.
