Sucden Financial appoints former Credit Lyonnais executive Michael Donovan as Senior Cocoa Broker

Sucden Financial has appointed Michael Donovan as a Senior Cocoa Broker to boost its cocoa business in London.

Mr. Donovan comes from Jefferies Bache, where as a Senior Cocoa Trader and Vice President he provided daily market reports for an extensive customer base, servicing and supporting market participants within the commodities industry, focussing on the cocoa markets.

Bringing extensive experience within the soft commodity markets, Mr. Donovan’s previous tenures include Head of Cocoa Brokerage at Credit Lyonnais Rouse where he developed their commodity customer base and Prudential Bache, where he was responsible for a substantial increase in their coffee and cocoa customer base.

Prior to joining Jefferies Bache he covered cocoa, coffee, sugar and grains futures at Natixis Commodity Markets.

Mark Cooper, Co-Head of the Softs team at Sucden Financial said: ‘Michael will be responsible for further developing and strengthening our cocoa brokerage business at Sucden. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in both the futures and physical markets, which will be a huge asset to the team and our strategy going forward.’

Michael Donovan said: ‘As a previous employee of Sucden, I was fortunate enough to be a participant in the transition that led to the company becoming a major influence in the world of cocoa. Over twenty years later, Sucden remains at the forefront and I am looking forward to growing the company’s business further.’
