Saxo Bank backed cyclist takes Tour de France Green Jersey, team takes third overall

With a number of the LeapRate staff being cycling enthusiasts, we would like to wish a hearty congratulations to our client Saxo Bank for the excellent showing of Team Tinkoff-Saxo at this year’s Tour de France.

While team favorite Alberto Contador failed to take the overall tour, placing fifth after having won this year’s Giro d’Italia, Team Tinkoff-Saxo had an overall excellent showing, placing third overall in the team category behind Movistar and overall Tour winner Christian Froome’s Team Sky.

But Team Tinkoff-Saxo did not go home empty handed. Rising cycling star Peter Sagan took home the Tour’s Green Jersey as the best sprinter, for the fourth consecutive year. The young Slovak also improved his climbing skills, placing sixth overall for the White Jersey awarded to the best overall rider under age 26.
