Neonet Securities appoints new non-executive Chairman

Mr. Haynes’ appointment is subject to formal approval by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority

Neonet Securities AB, a Swedish independent agency broker, announced last week that it has appointed Alasdair Haynes as its new non-executive Chairman. Mr. Haynes, who has been a member of the Neonet board since February 2013, replaces Peter Melbi, who is moving on to another board directorship.

Mr. Haynes is the founder and chief executive of pan-European cash equities trading platform Aquis Exchange and previously headed up Chi-X Europe. Before that, he led the European and Asian operations of international electronic broker ITG Inc. and held senior positions at investment banks, including HSBC and UBS.

Commenting on the appointment, John Ashdown, Managing Partner at Hay Tor Capital said: “Both KAS BANK and Hay Tor Capital are delighted that Alasdair has agreed to chair the board of Neonet Securities. His reputation and track record in the financial services sector are widely recognised in the pan-European marketplace and his leadership will be a tremendous asset to the Company as it continues to build its client offering and market presence across Europe. We are delighted to welcome Alasdair into this role and thank Peter Melbi for his contributions to the Company over the last two years.”

Haynes added: “It’s a great honour to be asked to chair Neonet and I am looking forward to working even more closely with the rest of the board and the management group to develop and continue growing the business.”
