LCH.Clearnet Chairman Lex Hoogduin joins LSE Board as non-exec director

Professor Lex Hoogduin, Chairman of LCH.Clearnet Group Limited, is joining the London Stock Exchange Group Plc (LON:LSE), as a non-executive director.

Previous roles of Professor Hoogduin include that of Executive Director at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), where he served from January 2009 until July 2011. He has also held a set of economic advisory positions as Chief Economist at Robeco, Managing Director of the IRIS research institute and advisor to the first president of the ECB.

This was not the single Board appointment that the LSE announced today. Former CEO of Standard Life David Nish is also joining the Board of the Exchange – as an independent non-executive director.

Mr Nish served as the Chief Executive Officer of Standard Life Plc from January 2010 to September 2015. He joined the company as Group Finance Director in November 2006. Prior to that, he was Group Finance Director of Scottish Power plc from 1999 to 2005 and a former Partner at Price Waterhouse. He is a Non-Executive Director of the UK Green Investment Bank Plc and, with effect from January 1, 2016, Vodafone Group plc. In the past, he has been a Non-Executive Director of Northern Foods plc, Thus plc, HDFC Life (India). He was also Deputy Chairman of the Association of British Insurers.
