Jamie Coleman, a prominent FX industry figure synonymous with FXBeat, the service operated by FXStreet which brought charisma and personality to the FX market news scene, has been appointed User Experience Editorial Consultant at Bank of America in Boston Massachusetts.
Assuming his new position this month, Mr. Coleman brings with him a wealth of experience gained from over 25 years worth of FX industry experience in a series of senior positions.
Beginning his career in the mid 1980s at Eurobrokers, Mr, Coleman moved to Bear Stearns & Co in 1986 where he completed his management training, before moving to ABN AMRO in 1989 where he spent 5 years as Assistant Vice President within the spot FX division of the company specializing in European monetary system curencies.
Just under a year at Barings within the emerging markets forex trading operation just prior to collapse of the firm resulted in Mr. Coleman moving to Fleet Bank in Boston, Massachusetts in 1995, before moving to Thomson Reuters as Managing Editor in 1997.
This signaled the beginning of Mr. Coleman’s journalistic career within the FX industry, having managed the Reuters FX Hub business. In this capacity Mr. Coleman produced content geared toward FX traders and investors in real time.
In 2008, Mr. Coleman founded ForexLive, which was a portal in partnership with FX Direct Dealer LLC (FXDD) with nearly 200,000 unique monthly users consuming just under 5 million pages of content per month.
In October 2013, Mr. Coleman became the persona behind FXBeat, which operated for one year before closing its doors in October last year.
