Alpari has today announced that demo accounts on the MetaTrader 5 terminal, currently available for clients to practice trading, will no longer be supported by Alpari from 1st March, 2015.
As of that date, traders will be unable to use this version of the platform for trading via PC or mobile device. All demo-accounts which have been opened in this terminal will be closed.
LeapRate today discussed the rationale behind this decision with Alpari RU, who explained that “Please be aware that beginning February 2015, less than 1% of Alpari clients in Russia and the CIS used MT5 platform. Currently, all types of clients’ accounts on MT5 are demo accounts.”
Alpari’s statement concluded that “In this regard, Alpari made a decision to discontinue supporting of demo accounts effective March 1, 2015. It is important to highlight that none of Alpari clients in Russia and the CIS have used a real account on MT5 platform to date.”
