Gabriel Domínguez De La Rosa is the new Chairman of Iberclear, Spains’s CSD

The Board of Directors of Iberclear, the Central Securities Depository of BME, announced that has appointed Gabriel Domínguez de la Rosa new Non-Executive Chairman of the company, replacing José Massa.

Gabriel Domínguez, who has been a board member of Iberclear since 2003, has a long and successful career in the financial markets. He began working in the Madrid Stock Exchange in 1975 filling several positions until he was appointed Director of Markets, holding this job title from 1989 to 2003. In this year he was appointed Director of Human Resources of BME and member of the Management Committee until 2010. He is currently a board member of Iberclear as well as of the Valencia Stock Exchange.

José Massa ceases all his executive functions in the BME group but will remain linked to BME as an adviser.

Antonio Zoido, Chairman of BME, thanked José Massa for his contribution during the time he has worked in the BME group, first leading the derivatives market, MEFF, and later on as Chairman of Iberclear, Spain’s CSD.

José Massa is a prestigious professional who has been key in the development of stock markets in Spain in the last 30 years, first with the innovative creation of the Options and Futures market in 1989, later on with the integration of MEFF into BME and finally leading Iberclear in a period of very intense and complex years for the European post-trade sector, which culminated this September with the successful migration of Iberclear to T2S “, stated Antonio Zoido.

The Board has also appointed two new independent directors, namely María Pintado Valverde and María Teresa Corzo Santamaría.

All the new appointments are pending final authorisation by the supervisory authority.
