How Tron became the world’s largest decentralized internet player

Tron just became the largest decentralized internet ecosystem in the world, after it acquired BitTorrent and its related products.

BitTorrent is worldwide known for being the fastest torrent with syncs for al major operating systems such as Windows, Mac and iOS. It is no surprise then that with this acquisition, Tron is as of today the largest internet player when it comes to decentralized ecosystem. This is a huge step for Tron to develop new products with mass adoption in the crypto arena.

The news was made public today via Tron’s blog post. Interestingly, BitTorrent was the first torrent with decentralized p2p protocol in the world, and it was created back in 2001. Since then, the company has gone on to acquire one of the world’s largest client base and become a major player in the torrent’s arena.

According to Zycrypto and the CEO of Tron, BitTorrent and Tron are a perfect “match” for each other, because of the companies’ views on what decentralized spaces and the web should look like.

Any user who previously used BitTorrent now also has full access to Tron’s network. The two client bases will create stronger collaboration between the newly merged companies, especially given the synergies in proposed future cryptocurrency and decentralization developments.
