BT Group welcomes Gemini to its Radianz Cloud community

BT Group (BT) today revealed that Gemini Trust LLC (Gemini), a cryptocurrency custodian and exchange based in New York, has joined its Radianz Cloud. Gemini is expected to benefit from the partnership by gaining access to a secure cryptocurrency cloud with thousands of users including exchanges, brokers, clearing and settlement firms among other institutions.

Gemini is a crypto exchange that was founded by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss in 2014, and it services allow its clients to connect straight to its trading platform, which is similar to how major global stock exchanges operate.

The move will give Gemini access to the global markets served by the Radianz Cloud through the same business structure used by large financial institutions. Gemini’s institutional clients who are also part of the Radianz Cloud will be reassured that they are getting the high level of connectivity they are used to when using Gemini’s platform.

Gemini’s Chief Information Officer, Nick Vigier commented that:

No other cryptocurrency exchange in the world offers our caliber of top performance and breadth of connectivity options. Adding Radianz Cloud connectivity to our current low latency offerings in the NY5 data center allows our existing institutional customer base to access our FIX interface whether they are directly connected or in AWS. This strengthens our institutional investor connectivity and helps us better scale our offerings in this space.

BT Radianz’s Managing Director, Michael Woodman stated that:

Global financial institutions have very specific requirements about the performance, resilience and security of the infrastructure over which they trade.

He further explained that:

They expect stringent service levels and will only do business under trusted commercial frameworks that help them to meet their own contractual and compliance requirements. This can make it difficult for small or new service providers to grow. By joining the Radianz Cloud, Gemini achieves the reach and scale demanded by global institutions and benefits from an established framework for doing business with them.
