Tradeweb Announces Sherry Marcus as its New Head of AI

Tradeweb Markets announced Friday that it has appointed Sherry Marcus as its Head of Artificial Intelligence, as the firm focuses on data-driven innovation across its global electronic marketplaces.

In the newly created role, Marcus will lead Tradeweb’s AI strategy, enhancing capabilities in price discovery, dealer selection and analytics for over 3,000 clients across institutional, wholesale, retail and corporate segments. 

She will report to Chief Technology Officer Justin Peterson.

Marcus joins from Amazon Web Services, where she led the 300-person science and data team behind Amazon Bedrock, the company’s flagship generative AI platform. 

Her previous roles include Managing Director of Data and AI at BlackRock, Chief Data Analytics Officer at Millennium Partners and Global Head of Big Data Analytics at Credit Suisse.

“Sherry Marcus is an influential voice on AI and financial markets, and we’re excited to welcome her to Tradeweb,” said Peterson. “Sherry’s impressive track record leading strategic, data-driven initiatives at top asset managers will be a strong asset to our team.”

Marcus holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from MIT and a bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics from Cornell. Her appointment signals Tradeweb’s increasing investment in AI to strengthen its market-leading platform.

She currently serves on several boards, including the MIT Club of New York and the Allen Brain Institute, and was previously a member of the NSA Advisory Board as well as the Science Board at the National Counter Terrorism Center.
