Horizon Software announces new low-latency native connectivity to Athens Exchange

Electronic trading technology provider Horizon Software has announced native connectivity to the Athens Exchange (ATHEX) for cash equities and derivatives. Horizon now provides more than 80 native gateways to exchanges and trading venues around the world.

In Greece, Horizon provides low latency connectivity for transactions (ODL API 2.0 Dcom) and market data (IDS/IOCP). Now in production and available to traders in Greece, connectivity to the exchange allows banks, brokers and prop desks to execute trades at low-latency, along with market making and algorithmic trading.

Andreas Daskalakis, Director, Market Operation & Members’ Support Division at Athens Exchange, commented:

We are very pleased to have Horizon’s low-latency, state-of-the-art technology made available to the Greek market. We expect that the connectivity provided by Horizon’s technology will contribute to the growth of our derivatives market and will provide a reliable alternative for brokers and banks of all sizes to offer market making or to extend existing activities.

We are confident that Horizon’s 18 years’ experience will contribute to making this collaboration a great success.

Gregory Couratier, head of business development EMEA at Horizon Software, said: “We make a point of putting our clients at the center of our activity and R&D, and we’re very proud to now have the capacity to provide the Greek trading community with our market-leading solutions. We look forward to supporting our Greek clients in the ongoing development of their market making activities.”
