Japan’s FSA warns regarding binary options broker OptionMart

Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) has just updated the list of investment companies that unlawfully target Japanese investors.

The pool of latest additions includes the name of Shiny Maple Limited, operating as OptionMart. The latter is a binary options broker offering its services via https://www.optionmart.net.

The company provides an address in the Seychelles but as its website has a version in Japanese, this is considered a form of targeting Japanese investors. Therefore, the broker has to have to a registration with the Japanese authorities in order to offer such type of services. It is useful to note here that under Japanese laws, binary options are treated as derivative financial instruments.

As OptionMart (aka Shiny Maple Limited) does not have such a registration, it made it to the Warning List.
