Vijay Albuquerque Appointed New Chief Risk Officer at CME Clearing
Albuquerque has more than two decades of industry experience, with a strong background in risk management.
He most recently served as Head of Counterparty Risk and Portfolio Risk Analytics for Citigroup’s Markets and Banking businesses.
In his new position, Albuquerque will be based in New York and report to Suzanne Sprague, CME Group’s Chief Operating Officer and Global Head of Clearing.
“Vijay’s deep expertise in both derivatives and securities markets will be invaluable as we continue to deliver leading risk management services to our clients,” said Sprague.
“We look forward to the significant contribution he will make as we work to continuously strengthen the clearing efficiencies we provide to the marketplace.”
CME Clearing acts as the central counterparty for daily transactions, as the buyer for every seller and the seller for every buyer.
As CRO, Albuquerque will be responsible for overseeing the risk framework and ensuring that CME Clearing continues to operate with robust and transparent risk management practices.
