Bushel and StoneX Form Partnership to Streamline Grain Merchandising

StoneX

Bushel and StoneX have agreed on a new partnership aimed at connecting farmer-facing digital tools with grain merchandising workflows.

In a press release on Tuesday, the firms stated that the move is expected to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency for grain companies.

The companies explained that the integration will link Bushel’s mobile and web tools for farmers with StoneX Hedge, the latter’s hedge workflow system that includes back-office connectivity. The combined platform is designed to support the full merchandising lifecycle, from offer through to settlement.

The solution is intended to help grain merchandisers increase the volume of digital offers, improve hedge accuracy and minimise double entry. It will also provide real-time data flows across systems, reducing the risk of operational errors.

Key benefits outlined include more efficient workflows by connecting offers, hedges, contracts and delivery records; enhanced farmer engagement through digital offer capabilities and mobile access; and lower operational risk through reduced rekeying.

Benny Andres, vice-president of product at Bushel, said the partnership delivers technology that works “across both the operational side of the business and the customer-facing side”.

Meanwhile, David Smoldt, president of StoneX’s commodities division, stated that the integration builds on momentum in the firm’s hedge platform, noting grain customers had already hedged more than one billion bushels in the first half of its fiscal year.

The companies noted that the offering is particularly suited to mid- to large-sized elevators, commercial grain businesses and co-operatives seeking greater digital origination capabilities and long-term technology flexibility.
