Invast Global adds former Wallaby, Rod Kafer, as Director of Prime Services

Rod Kafer was a former Australian rugby union player for the Australian Wallabies. He served as the coaching director for the team, before joining Invast Global, a multi-asset prime brokerage company, as a Director of Prime Services.

While the transition may seem rather surprising for some, Mr. Kafer actually worked in the financial services industry and as a proprietary trader, as reported by Financial Standard.

The information about the career switch was made directly from Mr. Kafer’s Linkedin account, where he shared:

I have enjoyed the game of rugby as a player, coach and commentator for over 30 years, I am now delighted to be working with the innovative and entrepreneurial Prime Broker team at Invast Global.

Another comment he added in his interview for the Australian Financial Review was that career changes were inevitable, saying:

One of the greatest pieces of advice when I was finishing my career, and it stuck with me ever since, was ‘don’t let this sporting career be the highlight of your life, because you could end up being disappointed for the rest of your life, and never be able to achieve the highs of perhaps what you did.

According to his Linkedin profile page, Kafer is also a sports commentator for Fox Sports and was a co-founder of Totalcom Corporation, a telecommunications service provider to small and medium clients in Australia. The company was eventually sold to Buroserv in 2014.

In his current role as Director of Prime Services at Invast Global, Mr. Kafer will work to sell the firm’s services to hedge funds, according to press.
