Tuesday: US Government looks to ICE Chairman to testify on market structure


Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading global network of exchanges and clearing houses, announced Monday that ICE Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Sprecher will appear before the U.S. Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee Tuesday to participate on an equity market structure panel.

The hearing is scheduled for 10 am ET on Tuesday, July 8 in room 538 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building and the webcast and testimony is expected to be available at The Senate Banking Committee Website.

Among the themes being discussed should be order routing, rebates, HFT and conflicts of interest..among other topics. Similar themes have been under examination in the foreign exchange markets as of late which we are all aware of, could we see a similar hearing on FX market structure in the near future, the possibilities are high, stay tuned to LeapRate…
