IG Group hires Declan Bourke, former Head of UK at CMC Markets.
LeapRate has learned that UK spreadbetting giant IG Group has opened an office in Dublin, Ireland. After IG’s competitor CMC Markets closed down their Ireland office last year, IG Group took the opportunity to hire CMC’s Ireland country manager Declan Bourke to open an office for IG. Bourke is known in the UK spreadbetting world as a fairly astute manager — while at CMC he also was named interim Head of UK in 2011-12.
With its new office, IG Group joins Dublin-based Shelbourne Markets (formerly MarketSpreads) as the only major local presences in Ireland financial spreadbetting. On the Forex side of things, global FX brokerage firm AvaFX is also based in Dublin.
