British Columbia regulator adds four binary options brokers to Investment Caution List

The British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) has updated the Investment Caution List, which features the names of entities that are not registered to offer their services in the Canadian province but nevertheless do so.

The latest additions to the list are four binary options brokers: ZenithOptions, InvestingCI, Option Orbit and LBinary.

  • ZenithOptions

The company operates via www.zenithoptions.com and www.zenithoptions.net. The BCSC became aware that a British Columbia (BC) resident was able to open an account with ZenithOptions.

ZenithOptions is not registered to trade in, or advise on, securities or exchange contracts in BC.

  • SEL Investments Ltd. (operating as InvestingCI)

The company offers its services via www.investingci.com.

InvestingCI, which claims to have an office in the United Kingdom, is unauthorized to offer investment services in British Columbia. However, a British Columbia (BC) resident was able to open an account with InvestingCI.

  • Option Orbit

This binary options broker offers its services via www.option-orbit.com. Although it lacks the necessary authorization, a British Columbia (BC) resident was able to open an account with this company.

  • LBinary

This binary options broker operates via www.lbinary.com.

Although the broker is not registered to trade in, or advise on, securities or exchange contracts in British Columbia, a British Columbia resident was able to open an account with LBinary.

LBinary has attracted the attention of securities regulators before. In January this year, the broker was included in the Warning List of another Canadian regulator – the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC).
