Moscow Exchange just announced its June volumes and total trading volumes across MOEX`s markets increased by 12.3% to RUB 78.9 trln.
Turnover increased on the Bond Market (+26.9% YoY), Money Market (+20.9% YoY), Equity Market (+12.5% YoY) and FX Market (+10.7% YoY).
Equity and Bond Market
Total trading volumes on the Equity and Bond Market grew by 21.1% to RUB 2,385.9 bln (June 2016: RUB 1,969.4 bln), hereinafter exclusive of short-term bonds.
Turnover in shares, RDRs and investment fund units increased by 12.5% YoY RUB 881.0 bln (June 2016: RUB 783.1 bln.). The average daily turnover was RUB 42.0 bln (June 2016: RUB 37.3 bln).
Turnover in corporate, regional and sovereign bonds grew by 26.9% YoY to reach RUB 1,504.9 bln (June 2016: RUB 1,186.3 bln), exclusive of short-term bonds. The average daily turnover was RUB 71.7 bln (June 2016: RUB 56.5 bln), exclusive short-term bonds.
49 new bond issues with a combined value of RUB 1,449.9 bln (of which overnight bonds accounted for RUB 1,001.9) were placed in May.
Derivatives Market
Derivatives Market volumes amounted to RUB 7.5 trln (June 2016: RUB 9.3 trln), or 148.9 mln contracts (June 2016: 159.9 mln contracts), of which 141.1 mln contracts were futures and 7.8 mln contracts were options.
Open interest at the end of the month reached RUB 729.2 bln (June 2016: RUB 485.3 bln).
FX Market
FX Market turnover was RUB 30.9 trln (June 2016: RUB 27.9 trln), including spot trades totalling RUB 7.5 trln and swap trades and forwards together totalling RUB 23.4 trln.
The FX Market`s average daily turnover was RUB 1,471.9 bln (USD 25.4 bln) compared to RUB 1,330.1 bln (USD 20.4 bln) in June 2016.
Money Market
Money Market turnover increased by 20.9% YoY to RUB 31.5 trln (June 2016: RUB 26.1 trln). The average daily turnover was RUB 1,501.0 bln (June 2016: RUB 1,241.2 bln).
The volume of repo transactions with the CCP was RUB 21.1 trln (June 2016: RUB 14.0 trln).
Commodities Market
Total turnover in precious metals reached RUB 8.1 bln (June 2016: RUB 10.3 bln), of which RUB 8.1 bln (3.4t) was gold and RUB 1.1 mln (35,1kg) was silver.
The total trading volume of agricultural products (grain and sugar) was RUB 542.3 mln in May.
