tradable’s trading apps link to Citi liquidity

Will trading apps replace traditional trading platforms?

Denmark-based trading apps provider tradable announced that its trading apps platform — which now is in working beta testing with six FSA-regulated, UK-based brokerages — now links to Citi’s CitiFX TradeStream.

It is unlikely that platform providers such as MetaQuotes are shaking in their boots, worrying that traders will abandon “traditional” FX trading platforms for a more app-like approach. But the idea of a more open, customizable app-based trading environment is certainly intriguing given how all of us are increasingly doing things online.

As we recently wrote, tradable is not the only one going the app route — industry giant Bloomberg recently launched its financial app store, enabling outside developers to provide all different manner of trading related apps over Bloomberg terminals.
