Thomson Reuters sees 6.7% MoM drop in spot FX volumes in April 2016

Thomson Reuters Corp (NYSE:TRI) has published the volumes metrics for April 2016, with spot FX volumes continuing to slide after registering a 6.3% month-on-month drop in March 2016.

Spot FX volumes averaged $97 billion a day in April 2016, down 6.7% from the result of $104 billion reported in March 2016. The annual comparison was also negative, as the ADV in April 2016 was 17.8% down from the reading of $118 billion registered in April 2015.

Other volumes averaged $276 billion a day in April 2016, up 7% in monthly terms. As a result, the total ADV was also up on a monthly basis (+3%) at $373 billion.
