The Saudi Stock Exchange announces Weekly Stock Market Ownership and Trading Activity Report

The total value of shares traded for the week ending 14 July 2016 amounted to SAR 21.15 billion, decreasing by 2.61% over the previous week; while total stock market capitalization reached SAR 1,537.12 billion at the end of this period, increasing by 2.18% over the previous week.

• The total value of shares purchased by “Saudi Investors” during this period amounted to SAR 20.35 billion representing 96.26% of total buying activity, and sales of SAR 20.48 billion representing 96.86% of total selling activity. Total ownership of “Saudi Investors” stood at 93.25% of total market capitalization as of 14 July 2016, representing an increase of 0.01% from the previous week.

• The total value of shares purchased by “GCC Investors” during this period amounted to SAR 0.230 billion representing 1.09% of total buying activity, and sales of SAR 0.198 billion representing 0.93% of total selling activity. Total ownership of “GCC Investors” stood at 2.58% of total market capitalization as of 14 July 2016, representing an increase of 0.02% from the previous week.

• The total value of shares purchased by “Foreign Investors” during this period amounted to SAR 0.561 billion representing 2.65% of total buying activity, and sales of SAR 0.465 billion representing 2.20% of total selling activity. Total ownership of “Foreign Investors” stood at 4.18% of total market capitalization as of 14 July 2016, representing a decrease of 0.03% from the previous week.
