FXCM has introduced an apps store, allowing its clients to customize their trading experience via specific-use apps, such as Trade-With-Friends, and DailyFX News Notifier.
The hope, of course, is to create “stickiness” with clients, who stay and trade with FXCM once they are used to using certain FXCM apps — a technique perfected by Apple in the mobile phone arena. One of the key problem areas facing FXCM and virtually all other retail FX brokers is a high rate of client churn. Having a popular (and useful) apps store is an innovative way of minimizing client churn, as well as targeting a younger mobile-focused crowd, who are used to downloading and using apps in their everyday web-surfing lives.
