English International footballer Ryan Bertrand partners to form new UK Forex brokerage Silicon Markets

This is taking the Forex brokerage + Soccer sponsorship combination to a whole new level.

England and Premier League footballer Ryan Bertrand has joined forces with two other entrepreneurs to launch a new Forex and CFD brokerage called Silicon Markets. The brokerage will be based in the City of London and offers retail traders the opportunity to trade FX, indices and commodities.

Silicon Markets appears to be starting life as an Introducing Broker (or technically as an Appointed Representative) of FCA-regulated broker One Financial Markets. LeapRate had reported that Arab-market focused One Financial had recently expanded in the UK with new 5,000 sq ft offices in the heart of London’s Mayfair district.

Ryan Bertrand tweetBertrand’s Silicon Markets claims that it will soon introduce new computational software based on artificial intelligence and technology to clients. However it appears as if its main competitive and marketing advantage will be Ryan Bertrand’s extensive network of fans, celebrities and sports stars which will be used to attract new traders to the market. Ryan Bertrand has 457,000 Twitter followers and 153,000 Instagram followers – not a bad base for marketing Silicon Markets’ services.

And it appears as though Ryan Bertrand is already getting in on the act. He’s been busy retweeting Silicon Markets promotions, including the company’s latest giveaway of tickets to a football match including (surprise surprise) Bertrand’s Southampton FC versus Chelsea FC.

It appears as though Silicon Markets will offer traders both MT4 and app-based Tradable platforms.

The new brokerage will initially focus on growing a strong UK client base before extending across Europe and Asia. Its long-term goal is to become a ground-breaking global organization.

In addition to Ryan Bertrand – who apparently has invested in the financial markets since the age of 18, the other Silicon Markets co-founders include Louis Bell, who has a wealth of institutional trading experience and Matthew Kirkham, a financial technology specialist.

Ryan Bertrand commented

Silicon Markets has a revolutionary new business strategy based on ground-breaking technology and marketed via celebrities and sports stars. I am really excited about our potential to transform the retail trading industry and am proud of the synergies we are developing between finance and football; and how we are able to introduce the financial markets to an entirely new audience.
