bwin.party’s Kalixa set to pocket €10m from Visa deal

Kalixa Payments Group, part of bwin.party Digital Entertainment Plc (LON:BPTY), is set to receive a one-off payment of approximately €10 million ($10.9m) from the sale of Visa Europe to Visa Inc (NYSE:V).

The €21.2 billion acquisition of Visa Europe by Visa Inc was agreed on November 2, 2015. As one of Visa Europe’s Principal Members, Kalixa Payments Group stands to receive a share of the upfront consideration. In its announcement, bwin.party noted that the exact amount to be received will only be confirmed upon the completion of the transaction, expected during the second quarter of 2016. Visa Inc has said that the amount to be paid to Kalixa will be approximately €10 million.

Meanwhile, bwin.party is getting close to completion of its acquisition by GVC Holdings PLC (LON:GVC). Shareholders in both companies voted in favor of the deal on December 15, 2015. The transaction is expected to close on February 1, 2016, subject to the approval of the Court in Gibraltar.
