Alpari RU maintains football sponsorship tradition, extends deal with FC Zenit St Petersburg

Alpari RU has today announced that it has extended its sponsor agreement with Football Club Zenit Saint Petersburg. The sponsorship will run until the end of the current Russian Premier League football season.

From February 2015, Alpari and FC Zenit’s partnership will be expanded from a regional level to become national. As part of the sponsorship agreement, the company will be publicized during Zenit’s home games. Alpari will also feature on the official website of the club, whilst season ticket holders for the current season will be given the opportunity to take part in some of Alpari’s tutorials for free.

Alpari has long been a proponent of sports sponsorship, most notably within its now defunct UK division which sponsored the shirts of English Premier League team West Ham United since early 2013 until its bankruptcy this month.

“Alpari has a long tradition of supporting sport, especially football. Our cooperation with Zenit has been a particularly successful one, with us receiving a lot of positive feedback. I would like to point out that our partnership is mutually beneficial and rewarding for the both of us. Other than financial support for the club, Alpari is striving to actively get involved with the supporters. At the end of last year, the winner of Alpari’s competition to find a Zenit-Alpari chant was given tickets to the Champion’s League Monaco – Zenit game in Monaco. We sincerely hope that in spring we’ll be sharing the glory of winning the league with the fans.” Vladislav Kovalchuk, Alpari’s marketing director, was delighted to announce.

Alpari and FC Zenit first announced the beginning of their partnership in February 2014. This new agreement also has the option of being extended. At different times the Alpari brand has partnered up with the Russian biathlon team, supporting the young Russian champion, Sergei Karyakin, in addition to its shirt sponsorship of West Ham United.

FC Zenit was founded in May 1925. Today it is the only team from Saint Petersburg in the Russian Premier League and the club has won every possible title in Russian football. In 2010, Zenit became the first club in Russian history to win the double, triumphing in both the Russian Premier League and the Russian Cup in the same year. In the past, FC Zenit has competed in both the UEFA Supercup and UEFA Cup. According to independent research, Zenit is supported by 15.26 million people.
