Mexican telecommunications company AXTEL lists $500m notes on GEM

Euronext buys Irish Stock Exchange (ISE)

Mexican telecommunications company, AXTEL, lists for the first time on the Global Exchange Market (GEM) of the Irish Stock Exchange (ISE) with issuance of US$500m notes. The notes, with a 6.375% interest rate, have a maturity date of November 2024.

AXTEL offers both Information and Communications Technology (ICT) solutions to corporate, mid to large-sized businesses, financial institutions, wholesale customers and to government entities.

In addition, AXTEL also provides one of the fastest symmetric broadband services to micro and small businesses and high value residential customers in Mexico.

The ISE has attracted a number of other Latin American issuers to its two bond markets, the Main Securities Market (MSM) and the GEM in the last month.

In addition to AXTEL, other companies from Mexico choosing to list on ISE markets were:

  • CFE, the national electricity company;
  • Grupo Bimbo, the world leading consumer food company; and
  • CEMEX, the global building materials company.
