EY Oil & Gas Manager joins blockchain technology firm BTL Group

Alessa Popovic, previously Manager at EY’s EMEIA Oil & Gas Advisory Centre, has joined blockchain technology firm BTL Group (BTL) in their London office as Senior Business Development Manager. BTL is currently running OneOffice, the second phase of its European gas trading project along with a group of energy companies and supermajors.

Alessa Popovic has a strong background in global gas markets, in particular drivers of changing dynamics in infrastructure, pricing mechanisms and regulation that affect geostrategic decision-making. Popovic has advised both national and international oil companies (NOCs and IOCs) on a range of issues related to improving steering mechanisms with strategic impact across internal departments, operating companies and wider group. Her client work in the sector included enhancing risk management approaches and tools, operating model redesign, financial due diligence, as well as testing and design of process control landscapes. She worked both with EY’s Global and EMEIA Oil & Gas Advisory teams to implement group-wide strategies, as well as build and test new service offerings.

Alessa Popovic has been engaged in blockchain projects and opportunities since early 2017. Her experience includes project delivery and case development for the application of blockchain technology in energy trading, back-office functions and supply chain.

At BTL Alessa Popovic will be responsible for extending BTL’s European energy footprint and increasing adoption of BTL’s Interbit platform. She holds a Master of International Business from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, USA and graduated from Mannheim University, Germany with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
